NORTHERN LANDS - The Great Canadian Wine & Culinary Adventure Edmonton May 2-6, 2017
What is Northern Lands?
Canadian wine has transformed in the last thirty years, from a curiosity into a daily ritual for so many of us. We have our favourites, from the wineries big enough to ship into Alberta, and we can go to regional and international expos.
Northern Lands will be a place to learn about wine, to taste it, to drink it with food from one of Canada’s most fertile agricultural regions and culinary labs, and to gather for a pint of the country’s most exciting craft beers. All that and Northern Lands raises funds for the High School Culinary Challenge and the Edmonton Community Foundation Grateful Palate Fund.
Blink and Hospice Calgary
A Perfect Pairing
Are you a wine connoisseur? We wanted to let you know about an upcoming opportunity to pair your love of fine wine with your support for Hospice Calgary.
Leslie Echino, owner of Blink Restaurant, and Mark Kuspira, of Crush Imports, acquired a rare barrel of Savigny-les-Beaune 1er cru, Burgundy at the 2014 Hospices de Beaune charity wine auction. They decided to sell the wine, Echino-Kuspira Hospices de Beaune, Savigny-les-Beaune 1er cru, Burgundy, and donate 100 percent of the proceeds to Hospice Calgary.
With only 252 bottles of Echino-Kuspira, it will be sold exclusively at Blink Restaurant for $35 a glass, and $175 a bottle.
The wine will be available from the evening of October 4th until it is sold out. Reservations are recommended.
